Proposed Carbon-Credit Platform
A market-platform proposal kept separate from measurement, reporting, verification and registry functions.

- Market, jurisdiction and operator to be established
Purpose
Explore a structured market-access proposition for eligible carbon credits while preserving the evidence chain from an underlying project to issuance and any authorised transaction.
MRV is an evidence function
Measurement, reporting and verification concern the underlying activity, methodology, data, monitoring and assessment. The result may describe measured or estimated emissions. It must retain its actual status and cannot be relabelled as a tradable issued credit.
Issuance and registry status
A carbon credit depends on the relevant programme rules, project eligibility, applicable methodology, verification and registry issuance. The programme, vintage, serial identification, ownership and retirement or cancellation status must be checked for the actual unit.
A separate market-access layer
The proposed platform addresses how eligible participants and documented units might be connected through a lawful transaction process. Operator responsibilities, market rules, participant checks, custody, settlement, claims and double-counting controls remain to be defined before any trading activity.
The MAXIMUS role
MAXIMUS develops the cooperation and platform proposition. Project development, independent validation or verification, registry issuance, commercial intermediation and transaction execution are separate roles requiring their own evidence and authority.
Cooperation
Project developers, MRV specialists, independent validators and verifiers, eligible registries, market specialists and prospective operators can help define the appropriate evidence and market architecture.
